What are the best Christmas presents to get someone who's trying to lose weight? My boss has been doing awesome eating healthier and exercising more, what can I get her that's supportive? i don't want to get her food or anything that may sabotage her efforts.

Hi Mary, I don't know if this answer comes too late. I'm sorry if it does. How awesome that you want to encourage your boss! I got a couple of gifts this Christmas that were really encouraging - maybe one would be for your boss as well. The first was a workout tanktop, the pricey kind that I would never buy for myself. The 2nd was a gift card to one of my favorite clothing stores so I could start replacing some of my clothes that don't fit well anymore. Since Christmas has come and gone, you've probably figured out a great gift already, but... just in case...

I think you have to be a little careful about presents to help people lose weight. Sometimes they are fragile and may take it that you think they need fixing up. What fat people need the most is love just for being themselves. I mean, you love them fat or skinny or whatever. So you have to find a present that says I love you right now, but I love you and want you to be healthy.
Okay, so food is out.
How about something to do with a hobby like a paint set or photography equipment? Something that says I like you for the unique person you are inside.
If she has lost a lot weight, how about a gift certificate for new clothes in a tiny size?
