Genevieve Posts 47	They have these at the gym where I work out. You hook them up to your chest as you run on the treadmill or whatever. You plug in your weight and age, and then the machine helps you reach the maximum heartrate for the right amount of time during your workout. In my experience, the optimal heartrate is really fast.

Genevieve Posts 47	I think you are in better shape than I am. I am a person who hated gym class and those sadastic coaches who made you do fitness tests. I was always terrible at everything and still am. WEre you always athletic or did you work up to it? It is a different idea for me to think in terms of being athletic. lshannon Posts 8	I'm a runner, but I don't wear at HRM. Instead, I just listen to my breathing and watch my pace (I use a GPS for that). And I can tell how hard I'm working based on how easy it is to talk to someone as I'm running.

StefanieH Posts 42	I am definitely not athletic! My current "running" actually consists of running for about 8 minutes, then walking for 3. I do that for about 45 minutes. When I started running a few months ago, I was running for 1 minute, walking for 1 minute. It just takes time and consistency to build up your strength and stamina. I'm "chesty" as well.. so is my roommate. She turned me on to a company called Title Nine that makes sports bras that have GREAT support. I'd recommend trying one. They're a little more expensive, but they're worth it!

I feel so embarrassed running in public and people really do make hurtful remarks. One minute walk, three minute run sounds doable. You're full of good stuff. Merci beaucoup, mon amie.

It tracks your calories whenever you are doing any type of physical activity. It was actually originally designed for children but I use it for my entire family! Here is a quick description of the software: Step 1: The user (either you or your child) and the parent (or doctor) agree on the rewards and the amount of physical activity time required Step 2: The user wears a Polar Activity Watch (no chest strap required!) that measures the amount of physical activity and then downloads it into the software. Step 3: The software tracks the user’s progress and rewards are provided accordingly (I like to reward myself with new clothes!) Now here is what really holds you accountable: If the user does not respond positively to the rewards, then the P.A.R.S software also has the ability to turn off the flow of electricity to designated TV’s and/or video consoles throughout the house. Then, the user HAS to be physically active in order to watch TV or play video games with the amount of viewing time proportionate to the amount of physical activity. I will tell you what…if I know the only way I can watch Dancing with the Stars is by doing a little work out then I do it!!
