A new study in the British Medical Journal found that eating a Mediterranean Diet reduces the likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes.
Previous studies indicated that the Mediterranean Diet helps those who already have diabetes, and that it can reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer and overall mortality.
The Mediterranean Diet emphasizes fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, olive oil, wine, and whole grains, and de-emphasizes meat and dairy products.
